Allen Wright

After immigrating to Canada in the early 1960’s he joined the Toronto Transit Commission in the Design & Development Department of their Subway Equipment group. In the late 1960’s he moved to the supply side of the industry joining Hawker Siddeley Canada Ltd, a Canadian based carbuilder. In the mid 1970’s he joined the the Urban Transportation Development Corporation (UTDC), in Toronto, and also spent several years with the Pullman Standard Company in Chicago. His roles with these companies included Customer Support, Commissioning & Warranty Administration for new subway cars, but quickly traversed into Sales and Marketing functions, elevating to Vice President, Sales & Marketing with UTDC in the early 1980’s.
These activities took him into all facets of the rail transit and passenger car fields in Canada, the United States, and Worldwide, with direct sales and business development activities in markets as widespread as Turkey, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Japan, providing an extraordinary broad base of experience and knowledge of all elements of the business from Direct Sales to Turnkey program development and marketing, including working directly with Customers, Suppliers, and the various Government Agencies involved in the Mass Transit supply process.

In 1986 Allen formed his own company - ‘the Wright Connection’ –. providing Sales and Marketing services to Manufacturers and Suppliers to the Mass Transit industry across North America, Europe and Asia. These relationships have included, amongst others, such notable companies as ADtranz, (USA) [now part of Bombardier Transportation]; Bombardier Transportation; A. Goninan & Company (Australia) [now UnitedGoninan Limited]; Herzog Transit Systems (USA); Kawasaki Railcar Inc (USA); Nippon Sharyo Ltd & Sumitomo Corporation of America (USA); SIG (Switzerland); Talgo America Inc (USA); Transmanche Link (UK – Channel Tunnel); and, TTA Systems LLC (USA).

As Principal, Owner and President - Allen Wright - has devoted his entire working career to the mass transit industry, spanning some 50 years. It is this experience, knowledge and developed skills in all facets of the industry that permit him to offer services, counsel, advice, recommendations and seamless contacts across all areas of the industry. The knowledge of all the requirements – commercial, technical, maintenance and operations - and the special considerations required to enable achieving the sale of products and services in the market have been effectively used to assist companies succeed.
